Many people don't realize that bikes are used year-round in Michigan as sustainable means of transportation.  Bicycles are valuable items for our unhoused friends, they provide independence and opportunities.

We receive donations of gently used bikes and then our dedicated volunteers repair and rehab them.  We work with local organizations to distribute them to unhoused individuals in need. To date, we have given away over 250 bikes!  Each bike is equipped with a new bike lock and rechargeable front & rear bike lights.

Local nonprofits and faith based organizations are welcome to complete our bike form to request a bike for unhoused individuals they’re working with.  This is a barrier free offer, with the only requirement being that the recipient is unhoused. (One per person per year.)

Fix-a-Palooza

What is a Fix-a-Palooza? In conjunction with our efforts to give away bicycles to unhoused individuals, we want those bikes to stay in tip-top shape!

Any transportation needs regular maintenance, so we team up with Open Roads and Kalamazoo Together Volunteers to fix those bikes! We also make sure that riders have locks, lights, and helmets!

Complete the form to hold your spot! Please don’t forget information on your bike and repairs needed so we can have parts on hand. See our Facebook page for a link to sign up.

Join us for an afternoon of food, fun, and fixing!
